~ Well Hello There ~

Good morning! Good afternoon or Good evening! Thank you for stumbling across my little corner of the internet! Since you have managed to do so, I suppose I should tell you a little bit about myself, I will try and keep it brief, this is the first blog post after all.

I’m Miss Evelyn, an ISFJ (soon to be Catholic) Australian who is in the latter half of twenties and comes from the city but now lives in the country. I long to live in Tasmania, England or Scotland or wherever the Lord leads me. Whilst I do miss the city sometimes, the peace and quiet of the country coupled with the genuine team spirit and kindness to all is much much more suited to my personality. That being said I’m often back in the city for musician work as I play Viola and sing part time.

I’m currently studying for my Masters degree in History at university after completing initial studies with a BArts comprising of a dual major in History and English Literature. My ultimate goal is to be a stay at home Mum and wife, but also to do a PhD in Musicology or History with a focus in the Victorian or Edwardian era. I’m also in the process of writing two screenplays and my first novel which is very exciting!

A random fact about me is that I collect numerous editions of the one book (The Secret Garden) as covers are so beautiful and it’s impossible to choose between them. My second random fact about me is that I’ve played Viola in the pit orchestra for a couple of musicals such as Oklahoma! and Into the Woods and ballets such as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

To put it simply, I’m a Historian, a traditionalist, soon to be new Catholic, old soul, hopeless romantic (who’s very much single), collector of books and records (old, second hand, and new) Shakespearean tragic, Sondheim fan, history nerd, honorary sidekick to Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings and an ardent viewer of Period/ Historical dramas. I also adore musicals and theatre! If you’re looking for me you can often find me either at Mass or in an Art Gallery, Museum, Concert Hall, Theatre, or Library. I can also be found out exploring the city with my 35mm film camera.

It’s a joy to meet you all and I’m very excited for this journey of blogging.

Till next time I remain very truly yours,

Miss Evelyn
